Paul and Heather dive back into life

This cheeky couple from Sydney had a real blast at our Lite n’ Easy photo shoot recently and certainly kept us laughing.  Paul and Heather just keep smiling inspite of their crazy lives juggling very serious jobs with odd shifts and bringing up their two beautiful children Alexandra and Thomas.  But there is a serious side to their story as well, as Paul suffered a major illness a few years ago…

Heather says “as a nurse with my own family history of cardiac illness, I know how important it is to eat well and exercise regularly. But try as you may, sometimes it just doesn’t happen. Life gets in the way and we all know that we can do better.”

“But with both of us working odd shifts, it was hard to keep up a regular exercise regime. And food-wise, with weekday training for the kids, weekend games, working and running our business, it was sometimes easier to just get take away,” adds Paul.

Then in 2005 Paul contracted a serious auto immune disease in his spinal cord which caused significant back pain and fatigue.  “Paul gained a lot of weight and lost all his drive for exercise.  He even gave up his beloved scuba diving,” explains Heather.

So they decided to call in Lite n’ Easy to give them a hand.  Paul ordered the 1500 calorie full meal plan as well as some extra dinners and Mini Meals for the rest of the family.

“For us Lite n’ Easy is like having someone there behind the scenes, making sure we are taken care of. It’s great to know it’s there when you’re too tired or too busy to cook.  We always have spare meals in the fridge or freezer so we can take them to work for lunch or dinner, and our kids also enjoy the convenience.  It’s always a fight for the muffins! ”

Paul has lost 11 kilos over the past 3 months and  “since starting Lite n’ Easy it has been the start of a whole new lifestyle for him,” says Heather. Paul agrees “losing weight has helped reduce my back pain quite significantly, but the greatest achievement is now I have a renewed energy level and I want to exercise again.  I want to get out and play rugby and soccer with the kids and we are even planning a family diving holiday!”

Well done you guys!
