Dez is a different man

Melbourne graphic designer Dez lost 70 kilos with Lite n’ Easy and is a completely different man these days, as these amazing photos show.  We first photographed Dez a year ago and checked in with him recently to get an update on his story…

I had been big all my life.  Even at the end of high school I was 111 kilos.  Then in my early 20s I started going out with my friends 4-5 times per week and seemed to live on the infamous pub “chicken parma with chips”. I was eating way too much of all the wrong kinds of foods, all the time!

I got to 150 kilos at my heaviest and even got an error message on my scales once which meant I probably went over that.  I could hardly move and was always out of breath, especially going up and down stairs.  My family was worried about my health and I was getting married so I wanted to lose some weight.  To be honest I would have been happy to lose 10% of my body weight.

So I set myself some goals and I started with Lite n’ Easy.  That was nearly 3 ½ years ago now.   My first goal was to get back to the 111 kilos I was at the end of high school.  I lost that first amount (39 kilos) in less than a year.  Then once I got ot 100 kilos I started to exercise and set myself goals of 5-10 kilos at a time.   Over the next year I got down to 80 kilos, a total loss of 70 kilos!  Now I can run up stairs and in fact I run every day at lunch time at work.

All this time later and I still love the variety of Lite n’ Easy, all the different flavours.  I have 6-7 favourite dinners that I still order now, especially when everyone else is eating takeaway.

I first took part in a Lite n’ Easy success story photo shoot last year in February and am happy to report that since then I have been able to stay around the 80 kilos mark, just by using what I learned from Lite n’ Easy and having the dinners always there in the freezer, plus keeping up with my running.  I even completed the Melbourne Marathon in 2011, which was a long held dream of mine!  If my story can help anyone to get started or just to keep going, I would love to help promote healthy living and weight loss any way I can.

Well done Dez!
